Founded in 2012, by Cherine Magrabi Tayeb, House of Today is a non-profit organization with a mission to identify, nurture, mentor, curate, showcase and connect Lebanese product designers with design experts, for the international enrichment of Lebanon’s design culture. Stemming from a desire to develop and promote undiscovered talent, House of Today is a platform that inspires, creates, and influences through curated Biennale exhibitions and an annual scholarship program. House of Today is recognized internationally as a reference for design in Lebanon. In 2014, the second exhibition "Naked: Beyond the Social Mask" gained international acclaim and its success provided the opportunity for House of Today’s scholarship program to fund six design scholarships for young Lebanese students. It also created a platform for House of Today’s designers to work with
international galleries such as Nilufar in Milan, Gallery Fumi in London and Carpenters Gallery in London and Paris. In 2016, "Jungle Protocol" has launched its partnership with FRANKBROS to support promising young designers from Lebanon, by creating some exclusive bespoke products. As part of its mission to highlight Beirut’s design talent scene, House of Today proudly presents in December 2018, in partnership with FRANKBROS, its fourth Biennale design exhibition: Elevate, The Quest For Heightened Senses. The installation showcases the work of today’s most prominent talent in contemporary Lebanese design.
