Copenhagen-born designer Henning Koppel (1918-1981) originally studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts before eventually turning to silversmithing. His revolutionary silver pieces, distinguished by sculptural lines and organic forms, put him at the forefront of the Danish Modern movement, and his long-standing partnership with Georg Jensen broke new ground in hollowware, cutlery and jewellery.
