Hailing from Sunderland, in north-east England, Michael Young founded his eponymous studio in 1993 with the aim of providing exclusive, quality design services across an eclectic range of markets. With a portfolio spanning interiors to technology, Young is one of the UK’s most sought-after designers, collaborating with a number of retailers and institutions such as the Conran shop and
the Pompidou Museum in Paris. After nearly a decade working in the UK, Young shifted his focus to Asia, led to the continent by a passion for pioneering technology, and established a studio in Hong Kong in 2006. This move has propelled a number of collaborations with Chinese industrialists, as well as a focus on projects that strengthen ties between local Asian industry and design.
