Pierre Jeanneret

Frequently collaborating with his cousin Charles-Édouard Jeanneret — better known as Le Corbusier — on numerous residential projects, Geneva-born designer Pierre Jeanneret is best known for his furniture designs, many of which featured prominently in the public and private buildings included in Le Corbusier's designs for the Indian city of Chandigarh. With a great sensitivity for materials, Jeanneret's designs are defined by a sensuous, relaxed and welcoming

aesthetic — especially demonstrable in the now-classic 'LC/4' chaise longue and the 'Grand Comfort' lounge chair created with long-time collaborator Charlotte Perriand. In addition to Chandigarh, Jeanneret partnered with his cousin on a number of residential projects, including the Villa Savoye, an iconic modernist house in suburban Paris that was completed in 1931.
