'89 hangers', set of four

Created from a scanning process that takes every day objects and converts them into organic forms, OAO Works' '89 hangers' is a demonstration of how technology can be utilised to strip forms back to primitive states. Designed by Omer Arbel, every piece in the set of four hangers is crafted from brass — each one the product of a scanner-produced mould cavity, into which molten brass is poured. Finished with a sandcasting process, which offers an inconsistent patina, each individual piece is wholly original and unrepeatable.
