'Stool 60', pink

Alvar Aalto's cherished 'Stool 60' is updated with a contemporary splash of colour, thanks to Japanese designer Jo Nagasaka's input on this iconic piece. The original features — three legs which correspond with other pieces from the designer's 'L-leg' family, and make the piece stackable — are still there, but this special edition is notable for Nagasaka's application of two layers of pink and purple lacquer on the surface as part of his ColoRing series for Artek. The result is a solid wood stool that presents the warm and organic qualities of Aalto's original, uplifted by Nagasaka's colour infusion.
