'Ballet Oskar' glass

Led by the historical glassmaking techniques of Murano, Marta Giardini's collection of glasses and bottles for Visionnaire brings together simple forms with freehand workmanship. One of the results is this mesmerising 'Ballet Oskar' glass, an aquamarine vessel inspired by the costumes of the Triadic Ballet by Oskar Schlemmer that combines contemporary tones with a silver leaf finish. Incalmo — a glass-making technique in which differently shaped and coloured pieces of glass are joined with heat  — is applied here to achieve the bottle's unique shape, which seamlessly fuses a slim base to a bowl-like rim.
