Designed by Ivan Colominas for Italian brand MMairo, 'Amaltea' is a dramatic centrepiece carved from a solid block of luxurious rosso levanto marble. Inspired by Caravaggio’s 'Basket of Fruit', the bowl is an ode to another great master of Italian creativity — Angelo Mangiarotti, who was known for his marble work and was closely connected to the Apuan region in which MMairo is based. The result is an object that is as versatile as it is simple, and puts the beauty of Italian mined marble front and centre.
