For the fist time, the life and work of British-born, Milan-based product designer James Irvine (1958–2013) is explored in great detail in a self-titled tome published by Phaidon. With contributions from Michele De Lucchi, Giulio Cappellini, Stefano Giovannoni, Jasper Morrison, Konstantin Grcic, Naoto Fukasawa and Marc Newson, and design critics Deyan Sudjic and Francesca Picchi and Marialaura Rossiello, Irvine’s design partner and wife, the 240-page book includes anecdotes from former colleagues. Also featured are previously unpublished drawings, sketches, models and images from the Irvine archives, for a complete picture of Irvine's immeasurable contribution to design.
