One of Denmark's most esteemed designers, Jakob Wagner has more than 20 years’ experience in the design field. A graduate of the Danish Academy of Engineering and the Art Center in Montreux, the designer founded his eponymous Copenhagen-based studio in 1993, which subsequently led to collaborative product lines for Alessi, Bang & Olufsen, Menu, Muuto and Stelton in addition to furniture projects for Cappellini, B&B Italia, Moroso and Hay. As well as being honoured with numerous accolades including six IF Awards, three Red Dot Awards, Bundespreis and Designer of the Year,
Wagner's designs may also be viewed at the permanent exhibition of New York's MoMA. His work is characterised by landscape forms and a perfectly struck balance between opposing elements, such as masculine and feminine, symmetrical and asymmetrical. Merged with the designer's attention to detail and unique grasp of user experience, Wagner's designs manage to be poetic and playful, functional and beautiful all at once.
