One of the founders of the Memphis movement, Aldo Cibic's early career was guided by Ettore Sottsass, with whom he partnered in 1980. Following this collaborative period, in 1989 the Italian architect and designer established his own design firm, Cibic & Partners, and expanded into the field of architecture and interior design, with projects both in Italy and abroad.
Cibic now also teaches at the Faculty of Architecture at the Milan Polytechnic and the Faculty of Design at the University of Architecture of Venice, and acts as Honorary Professor at the Tongji University in Shanghai.
