Born in Milan in 1891, Ponti made his debut at the first Biennial Exhibition of the Decorative Arts in Monza after graduating from Politecnico di Milano, where he studied architecture. Ponti's longstanding commitment to Italy's ceramics industry resulted in the production of the esteemed Domus magazine, allowing Ponti to add 'publisher' to his long list of titles, which include industrial designer, furniture designer and artist.
