Taken from 'The Sea Things Summer Collection 2020' by Vitra, this medium-sized tray combines Ray Eames' 1945 'Sea Things' motif with Alexander Girard and Charles and Ray Eames 'Classic Trays' design. Awash with an undersea pattern brimming with starfish, jellyfish, crustaceans, seaweed and other creatures, the tray's surface design was originally submitted by Ray Eames to the 1947 ‘Competition for Printed Fabrics’, organised by the New York Museum of Modern Art. Now it appears here, revived by Vitra, for a limited period on a medium-sized 'Classic Tray'.
