As such, the signature piece from Cassina’s 'I Contemporanei' collection features upholstery comprised of 16 pieces of brown saddle leather, individually die-cut and then subjected to a further 14 procedures, all by hand. Once attached to the chair’s steel frame, the skin is secured with a zip fastening, akin to a bespoke tailored garment.
