'Vase 02 Fck' vase, cement

French designer Frederick Gautier translates brutalist architecture into a series of arresting objects for the home. Drawing inspiration from colossal modernist forms, each vase in this collection for Serax can be interpreted as a building in miniature. This tubular design creates a strong presence with its exaggerated form. Cast from cement, and defined by a semi-circular feature handle, the vase juxtaposes volume and space to striking effect. Continuous lines create a fluidity that contrasts with the raw surface texture of concrete. 'Vase 02 Fck' in gray takes on a new identity when filled with fresh or dried florals, and can be displayed as an impressive sculpture in its own right.
