'Line-Up 02' platter, blue and white

This characterful tableware series for Serax ingeniously captures sketches in clay. Dutch designer Annebet Philips renders spontaneous handpainted lines on white porcelain for a stylized minimalism in which stoneware seems to take on the flatness of paper. A graphic take on traditional blue and white china, the collection celebrates the artisanal through directness and imperfection. Uneven edges and asymmetrical forms echo the concept. This oval platter features an uneven scalloped edge, an inner border, and circular details in single, thick brushstrokes. Cut-out handles, outlined in blue, accentuate the feel of papercraft.
