'Funquetry' pencil holder

Taken from Nada Deb's 'Funquetry' collection, which brings together a series of homewares in an updated take on the traditional technique of marquetry, this linear pencil holder combines multi-coloured strips of wood to stunning effect. Handmade in Beirut and cut from French oak, the pencil holder and its various inlaid pieces offer varied perceptions, which change as viewers move around them, thanks to a process in which triangulated cuts into the solid base wood create a pleated effect.
