Mouth-blown and free-hand sculpted, this exquisite example of European glassmaking is part of a portfolio of objects created for limited series and bespoke installations. Alexa Lixfeld's 'Gravity' bowl in orange sun captures the movement and heat of molten glass, as one side of the piece appears to slide downwards. The glowing surface both reflects and absorbs the light in a transfixing design that feels organic yet beguilingly unfamiliar. Subtle marks in the glass, such as bubbling and planing, reflect the artisanal process that makes each vessel unique.
