'Nelson' fan clock

At a time of economic prosperity in America, George Nelson conceived a wide array of everyday objects, such as lamps, clocks and other domestic accessories, to fill the homes of the newly affluent. His 'Wall Clocks' series (1948-1960) is notable for its expansive range of timepieces, some of which have since become mid-century design icons — the 'Nelson' fan clock was one of many wall clocks by the designer that offered a fresh new take on timekeeping for design aficionados in the 1950s.
