In 1961 the magazine L’Illustrazione Italiana sent critic Giorgio Zampa and photographer Ugo Mulas to Denmark to report on the country's near utopic landscape and way of life amidst an era of tumultuous change in Italy. The duo's subsequent encounters, including meeting legendries like writer and baroness Karen Blixen, and Nobel prize winner for physics Nils Bohr, are documented in 'Danimarca 1961', a paperback produced by Humboldt Books. Featuring an introduction by Dario Borso, the book also reflects Mulas’s early interest in art, with particular attention shown to the newly established Louisiana Museum of Modern Art.
