Best known for his fashion designs, Yves Saint Laurent had a groundbreaking vision that was also applied to interior projects, which were often defined by authentic infusions of personality and provenance. Along with Pierre Bergé, Saint Laurent's business partner, the designer created and curated a host of spaces that tapped into a deep and impressive knowledge of both art and interior design, often working alongside designer Jacques Grange to fully realize each concept. The result was a series of stunning private interiors and gardens, which are presented in Assouline's 'Yves Saint Laurent' at home, a comprehensive overview of the worlds of wonder and enchantment created by Saint Laurent and Bergé. With contributions from Jacques Grange, Catherine Deneuve, Betty Catroux, Laurence Benaïm, Louis Benech and others, the book explores properties that include Yves’s Château Gabriel, the dacha in Deauville and the Villa Majorelle in Marrakech, all accompanied by text from Jacques Grange as well as a preface by Louis Benech and an introduction by Marianne Haas.
