'Aida Lamp'

The 'Aida Lamp' is one of Angelo Mangiarotti's most characteristic pieces. Manufactured by Danish brand Karakter, the aluminium and steel lamp presents a sculptural silhouette that references Mangiarotti's architectural masterpieces. Here, the designer's narrow, elegant pillars are represented by a slim aluminium arm which, together with a black lacquered steel base, balances a half-sphere of white mouth-blown glass from which a soft light is emitted. The result is a silhouette in which the interplay between two large volumes connected by a seemingly fragile form creates a mesmerising tension. Supplied with an EU, UK, AU, US, JP and CN plug.
