The work of young Finnish designer Pancho Nikander, this versatile piece features beautifully flowing pressed plywood coated in birch veneer. It comes with a small handle for easy lifting, and a square storage space designed to hold magazines or logs. Although it was created in 2004, it perfectly follows the lead of Helsinki master Alvar Aalto, who helped produce the first form-pressed wood designs in the 1930s.
