'Asteroid' vase, powder blush

Designer Alexa Lixfeld's glass sculptures, centerpieces and vases offer a seamless harmonization o, traditional glass making techniques and a contemporary design vision. The result is a diverse family of unique items that includes 'Asteroid', a gently rolling vase in a powdery shade of blush that is marked by various undulations, tone shifts and a series of other distinct characteristics and detailing. This is thanks to a wholly manual production process that sees each sculptural vessel formed from glass that is mouth-blown and sculpted and shaped freely by hand. Bubbles are part of the charm of a hand-blown piece and add character to each item.
