Carved vase, small

In an exploration of the opaque, the translucent and the transparent, Tom Dixon's carved vase plays with light, heavy, bright and dark. Formed from double layered mouth blown black and white glass, the small vase presents a circular motif — carefully carved by glass makers in India — which is appealing to both the touch and the eye. Chunky and weighty, yet at the same time ethereal, the vase makes an aptly hard-hitting statement.
