In an exploration of the marriage of ancient and futuristic forms, Lara Bohinc has looked to the octagonal towers at Croatia's Diocletian Palace for inspiration for her 'Fortress' vase collection. Interlocking hexagonal blocks embrace each other in a complex and geometric interpretation of the Croatian towers, the result being an exciting play on light, shape and angles. This ceramic 'Castle' vase is coated in bronze and, along with the three other shapes from the series, was handcrafted in a small Italian artisanal workshop.
