'Rust' vase, medium

Launched by product designer Ariane Prin at the 2015 London Design Festival, the 'Rust' collection is Prin London's first homeware range. For this cylindrical vase a mixture of metal particles, collected from key cutting and metalworking workshops, are combined with gypsum and acrylic, and are left to oxidise over a period of weeks to months.. The result is a one of a kind piece that offers a unique texture and a pleasing variation in colour and intensity. Due to the presence of metal particles the vase may continue to oxidise over time, resulting in a slight change in appearance, which only adds to each item's singularity.
