Clever Scandi brand Menu’s philosophy to make the world less complicated
Menu is a Danish brand, founded in 1976 by Benjamin Hubert, Karim Rashid and KiBiSi. Together they wanted to create sought-after objects with a crisp Scandinavian look. Menu’s clever and functional products include, wire chairs and concrete candleholders to industrial-style brass table lamps and marble clocks, which have been made by craftspeople from around the world.
Menu aims to make simple objects that will be treasured now and forever, collaborating with super-talented designers in order to do so. The brand centralises around making clever solutions for modern living and beautiful objects for everyday use, whether that’s a piece of indispensable kitchen equipment, a floating shelf or a vase that adds that finishing touch to any living space. Ultimately, Menu asks its customers to expect more from design, items that are less complicated and just that little bit nicer to wake up to.
Studiopepe was founded in Milan in 2006 by Arianna Lelli Mami and Chiara Di Pinto. The design agency is renowned for its eclectic and layered perspective, uniting poetic vision and rigorous design. It has built a strongly recognizable identity, focused on design and research through the use of a multidisciplinary approach, experimentation, and unusual associations. Their work includes interior design, product design and creative consulting. Projects, usually defined by their strong iconographic identity, in-depth colour and material research and the blend of various contemporary languages, aim to provide a unique solution that is respectful of each client’s individuality. Projects include window displays for Darkroom London; styling for a Fritz Hansen store and Roll & Hill exhibition stall, and Space features for Wallpaper* magazine.

The Copenhagen-based practice Norm Architects was founded in 2008 by Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen and Kasper Ronn, who were later joined by Linda Korndal. Their work encompasses product design, residential architecture, commercial interiors, photography, graphics and art direction. The brand focuses on quality and durability, with designs created to outlive fleeting trends and keep the tradition of Scandinavian simplicity alive.
The essence of Norm Architects work is founded on a balance between richness and restraint, between order and complexity. Each project carries the same concept with it; simplicity with a bigger idea. Guided by the body and the mind, the brand explores ideas that not only look good, but feel good too. Their work is sharp and crisp and exudes, tacitly, our focus on quality, details and durability. They consider a project complete when balance has been found, that is to say, when there is nothing more to either add or take away.
Designed the ‘Bottle’, ‘Hover’ Bowl, ‘Kettle’ Teapot, ‘Socket’ Lamp, ‘Norm Tumbler’ Alarm Clock, ‘Norm’ Metal Wall Clock for Menu.

Menu Iconic Products
‘Pepe’ Marble Mirror
The ‘Pepe’ Marble Mirror was designed by Milanese agency Studiopepe. A stylish marble mirror that takes its cues from the aesthetic of late 1950s Italy, favouring clean lines and precious materials. Influenced by the works of masters such as Gio Ponti and Luigi Caccia Dominioni, Studiopepe has created an object for everyday use that will remain iconic, age beautifully thanks to the precious marble and last forever. Available in white or black marble.
The ' Echasse' Vase, designed by Theresa Rand is a Wallpaper* Design Awards 2018 winner. It combines the classic elegance of a traditional glass vase with a playful, light expression. Taking its name from the French word for 'stilt', the smoke-coloured glass vessel is supported by a brass stand that features four elongated legs which extend in both directions. The vase itself is inspired by laboratory glassware, specifically the test tube, clearly seen in the exaggerated curvature of the object's base and like the original the Échasse has a classic drop-like shape. Available in small and large.
